Two years ago
Peterborough United 3 Wrexham 0
Is it really two years since we travelled to London road to face Peterborough and new manager Darren Ferguson.
With Brian Carey only a handful of games into his tenure as reds manager, the fixture was certainly one that the away faithful where looking forward to. Carey gave debuts to John Ruddy and Scottie Baron as he attempted to halt the reds slide down the table.
Wrexham trailed at half time to an Aaron McLean goal, however the Dragons had spurned some good opportunities.
Any hope of a comeback disappeared early in the second half when Ruddy was beaten for a second time. A Steve Evans own goal late in the game compounded the reds misery as Posh run out comfortable winners.
So it was another long journey home for the faithful. Fast forward two years, The current crop of loan signings along with the acquisition of Westwood and Williamson has breathed new life into the Dragons, making the long journey home from such far flung places as Lewes, Workington, Stevenage etc a pleasant experience once more. Long may it continue.
