Oxford United v Wrexham

11th April 2009

Match preview

Wrexham visit the Kassam stadium tomorrow for the first time since November 2005, hoping to end the season with a flourish.

Wrexham's record against the U's is impressive, recording ten wins and eight draws from a total of twenty one meetings. The last time Wrexham lost to Oxford was in March 1983 and they have won the last four times on the road.

However, The Dragons will have to be at their best to come away with all three points from this encounter.

Wrexham's recent form has been dismal, a run of two wins from fifteen matches has ended Wrexham's hopes of a quick return to the football league, and they must now look to end the season on a high note and build for next term.

United on the other hand still have playoff aspirations. They are currently seventh in the division, six points behind Kidderminster Harriers. But with only four matches remaining Oxford will be looking to take maximum points from this encounter if they are to pinch fifth place.

The U's have been in good form recently, losing only once in their last fifteen outings, and have won fifteen of their twenty one home games this season.
