Wrexham v Histon

7th April 2009

Match preview

Wrexham play at home for the third time inside a week tonight when they entertain promotion chasing Histon.

The clubs own promotion challenge has faltered in recent weeks and they are now realistically playing only for pride. The clubs played the corresponding fixture on March 28th. Histon won that encounter 1-0 in terrible conditions, and would welcome a similar result tonight.

Wrexham's dismal recent form has ended any hopes they had of gaining promotion this season. Saturday's home win against Mansfield town was only their second in fourteen matches.

Histon have been on a good run of form, and have been consistent all season. Their direct style has caused many teams problems this season, and Wrexham's shaky defence will not be looking forward to this encounter.
