Wrexham v Kidderminster Harriers
23rd March 2009
Match preview
Wrexham host Kidderminster Harriers tonight, knowing that another defeat would surely end any hopes they have of reaching the playoffs.
Wrexham's form has been very patchy recently, with only one win in eight league games. Dean Saunders suffered his first home defeat on Saturday, when fellow promotion hopefuls Crawley Town secured a 2-0 win. More comedic defending gave Crawley their second goal, while at the other end of the field, The Dragons are still struggling to convert their chances.
Kidderminster are currently enjoying a good run of form, winning their last three games, and unbeaten in five. They are currently sixth, and a draw tonight would see them replace Stevenage Borough in the final playoff place.
Harriers do have a tough run in though, playing eight of their remaining eleven matches away from home, six of them being against playoff contenders. They have kept fifteen clean sheets this season, and have proven to be difficult opponents to break down.
The Dragons lost the corresponding fixture at Aggborough stadium in November by a 1-0 scoreline. That day they did everything but score, hitting the woodwork three times and missing a host of other chances.
This match should be a nervy, tight encounter and unless Wrexham can cut out the defensive errors which have blighted recent performances, they could be disappointed once again.
