Wrexham V Mansfield Town
4th April 2009
Match preview
Wrexham's promotion hopes were finally ended on Tuesday night when they could only manage a draw at home to Barrow. The Dragons are playing for pride only now and face a tricky match at home to Mansfield Town tomorrow.
Wrexham's recent form has been dismal, with two draws and a win from their last six games. An inability to defend set pieces along with a toothless strike force has brought a premature end to the Dragons season.
Mansfield too have had a difficult first season in non league. The stags are currently fourteenth in the league with fifty one points. Mansfield's recent form is patchy, and they have struggled away from home, losing twelve of their twenty away matches.
On paper this is a tight match, and recent games against the sides have always been close affairs. The corresponding fixture in December resulted in a 2-1 win for the Dragons. But since those heady days the wheels have come off the Wrexham wagon, and Wrexham could be looking at yet another frustrating afternoon.
