Weekend preview
21st March 2009
There are nine matches in the BSP this weekend, with all of them having a bearing on Promotion or Relegation.
Mid table Altrincham host Forest Green Rovers, Rovers have had some good results recently, but are still precariously placed just above the relegation places. Altrincham have won eight matches at home, while Rovers have lost only six on their travels. Honours could be even in this one.
Lewes face the long trip to Barrow, having lost thirteen straight league matches. Barrow will be targeting three points from this game which may lift them out of the relegation zone.
League leaders Burton Albion Travel to Eastbourne Borough, hoping to pick up another three points. Albion have been faltering recently and have allowed Cambridge United to close within five points. Eastbourne have proven to be difficult opponents this season, and should take a point from this game.
Grays Athletic host Mansfield Town, knowing that they must take advantage of the home matches they have left if they are to avoid the drop. Mansfield on the other hand have fifty points and are playing out the season.
Kidderminster Harriers Host Woking at Aggborough stadium. Harrier's home form has been impressive this season, and they should add another three points from this encounter.
Struggling Northwich Victoria Face Torquay United at the Marston's arena, knowing that games are running out for them. Vics narrowly lost at home to Wrexham on Tuesday night, and another spirited performance might see them take a share of the spoils.
Salisbury City Host Rushden and Diamonds, and will be hoping to take three points in their bid for survival. City are currently on 45 points and two more wins should see them safe.
Crisis club Weymouth host Kettering Town. Weymouth need to start picking up points or could see themselves dragged into the relegation picture. Kettering on the other hand will be targeting three points, as they attempt to get their promotion bid back on track.
Finally Wrexham take on Crawley Town at the Racecourse. The Dragons have faltered in recent weeks, losing three consecutive away matches. However with the acquisition of striker Matt Jansen, Wrexham have begun to rediscover their form. The Dragons have seven home matches left and will be aiming for maximum points from them, as they bid for a top five finish. Crawley also have promotion aspirations, but face six of the top ten teams in their last ten fixtures. They will need to return south with at least a draw if they are to keep in touch with the promotion pack and push for a playoff place.
