Bayliss Set for Wrexham Move

Luton Town defender Dave Bayliss has agreed a one-year deal with League Two club Wrexham and will join the club on Monday for pre-season training.

The Liverpool-born defender had to watch on last season as Luton’s defence helped them secure the league title and promotion to the Championship, while he joined Chester City on loan, ending that spell with a sending off against Cheltenham Town.

The 29-year old joined
Luton from Rochdale in December 2001.

“Dave is a defender who can organise his defence and also not a bad passer of the ball,” said Smith.

“He is just the sort of person I have been looking for as he is experienced and also tremendous in the dressing room.

“The back two at Luton last season were that good, it made it difficult for anyone to dislodge them, so Dave is now eager to get back in the first team and I have no doubt that he will be a big asset to this club.”

Smith is also hoping to unveil a new striker within the next couple days as well.
