"Jeff has benefited from a run of games and is coming into a run of form at just the right time for us," said Carey.
"He has made a big difference both on and off the field. He is an experienced professional who has been around a long time and done virtually everything in his career.
"He leads by example on the field and in the dressing room and drags all the other players with him. A lot of the younger lads look up to him because he knows what it's about and he's been a great addition to the squad."
