TNS have confirmed that the second leg of their UEFA Champions League tie against Liverpool will take place at Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground.

The Racecourse was one of TNS’ two chosen grounds for the tie, however, with the ground is limited to a 10,000 capacity with the Kop end unable to be used.

There had been talks of playing the tie in
Cardiff, however, the Millennium Stadium is unavailable to the Welsh Premier League champions with a conference taking place in the run up to the date, while rumours of taking the game to Liverpool were rejected by UEFA, insisting the game must be played in Wales.

TNS general manager Ian Williams said: “We have always been very well looked after by the Wrexham officials and we are looking forward to entertaining
Liverpool there next month.

It is the most convenient choice for both sets of supporters and we are hoping for a full-house.”

The date for the fixture is believed to be July 19 with a
7:45pm kick off, although this is yet to be confirmed.

TNS have announced that they wish regular supporters receive priority for tickets for the game, and a voucher will be issued to everyone who attends the pre-season game with Glentoran at Treflan on Saturday (6pm kick off) to ensure priority when the tickets for the game go on sale on Sunday.
