NEW Wrexham signing Andrew Crofts was pleasantly surprised by the quality of Blue Square Premier football following his Dragons debut at Burton Albion on Tuesday night
.Speaking to the Daily post Crofts said "I enjoyed myself out there and now I've got to try and push on from here and so has the team.
"I thought we were desperately unlucky not to get something out of the game, but that's football for you."
Crofts only linked up with the squad a couple of hours before the game after the loan deal was pushed through in record time. Under the terms of the deal, Crofts will remain at the racecourse until the end of the season.
Speaking after the game, he added "The lads and the manager said the first half was the best they have played this season and as soon as we started I thought: 'God this a good team! We are going to do well.'
"I was really impressed with the side. I thought everyone put in a good shift and that we played some really good stuff.
We were a bit unlucky, but I'm very impressed from what I have seen so far.
"We deserved to go 1-0 up and we did not want half time to come. If we had not had the break it would have been a different result.
"We were not happy with their two goals and we are bitterly disappointed we didn't get anything out of the game."
Wales International Crofts who spent two months on loan at Peterborough earlier in the season should add a bit of much needed bite into the Dragons midfield. Andrew has made a 179 career appearances scoring 19 goals.
