Denis looking for experience

"The sides near the bottom of the league are direct and physical and we haven't the players to deal with that," he said after the 2-2 draw at Rochdale.

"We hope to rectify that in January, but we'll have to wait and see.

"There are too many kids here so we're looking for the more experienced guys. There's money for them, but if we can land the right ones is another thing."

Wrexham have picked up four points from 6 so far this Christmas but threw away a 2 goal lead at Rochdale.

"We have to be able to handle balls battered into the box. Steve (Evans) would have, but we failed to deal with it and paid the price," Smith told BBC Sport Wales.

"It's frustrating but we looked what we are - a team struggling for confidence away from home.

"I don't know why that is, but we'll keep battling and can still make the play-offs.

"When the top sides play football against us we can cope with that, but it's the physical edge."
