The former Liverpool manager stepped in on an informal basis to help Wrexham boss Brian Carey last February in the club's fight against relegation.
"I have enjoyed the opportunity to get involved with a club once again, I was happy to be invited back," Evans told the club website.
"I wanted to make sure that the staff here were at ease with my position, but everyone has made me feel so welcome."
Carey was only in a caretaker role last season following Denis Smith's departure.
Although he has since been confirmed as full-time manager, Carey still welcomes Evans' input.
"He has very much become part of the team since first offering to help out and I'm delighted that he will be with us again for the new season," said Carey.
"It would be foolish not to take advantage of Roy's experience and it's always interesting chatting to him about players and situations."
Carey currently has three trialists at the Racecourse Ground, with Carmarthen Town striker Kaid Mohamed, frontman Chris Simm from Leigh RMI and an as yet unnamed wide player from a Swedish club hoping to impress.
