"I am very pleased to get things out of the way, so I can now go on holiday for a couple of weeks and enjoy myself.
"I had been hoping to get a two-year deal for reasons of security, but the club could only go to a one-year contract due to the present financial position. So I've signed that and hopefully they will be coming back to me at Christmas and offering me something longer as well!
"I saw Lee had signed on and that has to be good for us. He has played at the highest level and is now dropping down from Barnsley, so hopefully we can get a good partnership going between ourselves after the five goals last season!
"It's going to be tough next year. We only have a small squad at the moment, but a lot will depend on the players the gaffer is looking to bring in.
"We do have quality in the team already and hopefully that will mean we are pushing for promotion."
