Green re-signs for Wrexham

Wrexham hope to have veteran midfielder Scott Green available for Saturday's League One match Saturday’s game with Huddersfield at the Galpharn Stadium.

The 34-year-old who left for Conference side Telford last
year has signed on non-contract terms, and Wrexham are trying to rush through his registration before Friday's midday deadline.

Green has been training with the club for a few weeks but has played only one competitive match since April.

In Wrexham's 2003 promotion campaign, Green was a key to the team scoring three times in his 15 appearances.

And with Denis Smith missing eight senior professionals for Saturday's game, he felt Green's experience and presence in midfield would be invaluable.

"When he joined us for training he hadn't played since April and was obviously overweight," said Smith.

"He's done well and played in the reserves for us last week and we are now running short of numbers with new injuries to Steve Roberts and Alex Smith.

"He gives us the sort of experience you can't buy."

Commenting on the situation Green said: "Obviously the injury situation is not good at the moment, but I hope that I can come in and play my part in getting the club back up and running again."
