The bid from Wrexham Supporters' Trust made to Alex Hamilton, owner of Wrexham AFC is expected to be rejected today say the people who put the offer together. Mr Hamilton is said to be seeking valuation of his assets before he makes a decision to sell.
The Trust go on to say that they expect more bids to be presented to the Cheshire-based Hamilton and remind fans that this was their first move to buy the club.
It is believed that Mr Hamilton will walk away from the club if he is offered in the region of £2.8m although the view of many people is that he will hold out for as much as he can get.
Mr Jones of Wrexham Supporters' Trust added, "We would like to think he is interested in selling. If he's not the question is, 'Where do we go from there.'
"If we didn't think he would sell then we wouldn't be taking a bid to him."
The belief is Mr Hamilton must sell Wrexham AFC if the club are to avoid going to the High Court and facing a winding-up petition by the Inland Revenue. Time is running out for the club with that date now less than two weeks away and the possibility of administration or liquidation seeming even more possible as well as a ten-point penalty in League One.
Liquidation would definitely mean the end of Wrexham Football Club, with its assets sold off to pay creditors. As Mr Hamilton owns both the club and ground, surely he has to sell thr ground to come out of it with any real benefit for himself.
There is a substantial backer behind the Trust's bid, although the identity of the source is not being revealed as yet as they continue to mount pressure on thw club's owner to sell up and save Wrexham AFC before it is too late.
