The 20-year-old, who spent the end of last season on loan at Stockport, has been released by Villa and his agent says a decision is imminent.
"There's been interest from Lincoln and Northampton, but realistically it is between Torquay, Wrexham and Stockport," said Gino Culbertson.
"It's been difficult because Jamie has been impressed with all three clubs."
Ward played nine games on loan for Stockport last season, scoring one goal, and played against both Wrexham and Torquay during that period.
"Jamie's away on holiday at the moment but none-the-less we think a decision will be made in the course of the next few days," Culbertson added.
"We've not agreed anything with anybody. We've had in-depth talks with all three clubs.
"It's a tough decision but... it's just a case of Jamie deciding what's best for him and his future progression and development."
