"While we are struggling for centre backs, having to include Gareth Evans, who I actually released in the summer, and they didn't even have Craig Morgan on the bench, who made his full debut for Wales in midweek.
"We have problems and I know what they are," added Smith. "But if anyone has any solutions, which won't cost us any problems, then I'm more than willing to listen to them.
"If you watched us in the first half did we look like a team in despair? No. Did we look like a team that can play good football? Yes. The change came when they brought on a quality player who caused us plenty of problems."
