Midfielder to go under surgeons knife

The 24-year-old player has played much fo the season with the problem but a consultant has told him that he needs an operation.

He could go into hospital as early as this week, and would be out for four to six weeks.

Barret joined the Red Dragons from Newcastle United in March 1999, and has made almost 100 appearances.
