No Name and Shame, No Sale!

Cheshire-based property developer and Wrexham FC owner Alex Hamilton has suggested he may not sell the club unless fans of the club who are alleged to have stolen mail from his house during peaceful protests are named and shamed.

Mr Hamilton, currently considering an offer put forward by Wrexham Supporters’ Trust says that he was disturbed throughout his recent holiday in Majorca by fans who had obtained details sent by a travel agent and insisted on an attack of abusive phone calls.

The former solicitor reiterated his claim that these fans are “Luddite terrorists”, enraging fans yet again as they battle to save their club from a certain death.

One Wrexham fan, whose views are similar to that of many offered this outlook on events.

“Mr Hamilton says that his mail was stolen. Where is his proof? He says it is a police matter, yet the police have not made anything public. Neither have the travel agent Mr Hamilton claims sent the holiday plans, or the Royal Mail themselves.

“It is not too hard for someone to make enquiries regarding a public figure’s whereabouts. If you know the general vicinity, then it does not take much to locate someone in a hotel legally, simply by asking receptionists by contacting a hotel. This is most likely what has happened here.”

At present, Alex Hamilton still owns 78% of Wrexham FC although has resigned as chairman and director of the club, and plans to remove directors Dave Bennett and Dave Griffiths at an EGM within six weeks, following numerous disagreements in the boardroom.

Says Mr Hamilton on the matter, “they are finished”.

The “Daves” are currently running the club on a day-to-day basis as the crisis continues. Attempts to halt this month’s court case at the High Court in London have failed and they will represent the club against the Inland Revenue who are owed money by the club.
