The Trinidad and Tobago international underwent a scan on the injury earlier this week and is awaiting news on whether an operation is needed or not.
"The local doctors [in Trinidad] told me it didn't require surgery and that rest would cure the problem," Edwards told the club's official website.
"But now I'm back in Wrexham, it might be worse than they first thought."
"It was a not a tackle that caused the injury. Rather the poor state of the pitch in Santo Domingo.
"I was running in on goal, at an angle, and was just in the act of taking a shot when my standing leg buckled on the surface.
"I fell to the ground, went over on my knee and in doing so suffered some damaged."
