Deano wants playoffs settled
DEAN SAUNDERS is aiming for Wrexham to secure a play-off berth sooner rather than later.
Wrexham have got 17 league matches to play in the final two months of the season and are currently fifth in the table.
Speaking to the Wrexham evening leader Saunders said,
"We need to start another run. We are one game undefeated at the moment,"
"If we get some wins under our belt in the next month, we could quite easily cement ourselves in the play-offs before getting to the crunch at the end.
"We have got to get in the play-off places as early as possible, and there is no reason we can't do that."
Tonight though Saunders is targeting a win at Stonebridge road in the FA Trophy quarter final replay with Ebbsfleet United.
With Ashley Westwood fit and Marc Williams available after suspension, Saunders looks set to pick a strong line up against the trophy holders.
"I have tried to give people a chance to play with Kidderminster in mind but the good thing was we never conceded a goal," said Saunders. "We had a man sent off and managed to hold on for 20 minutes.
"But we are probably favourites now and have got to go out and do it.
"I was worried about people getting injured on Saturday but I will be putting a strong team out tonight as we will now have four days to recover.
"That extra day makes a difference."
With the tie having to be completed tonight, Saunders is in a confident mood saying,
"We have got fresh legs coming back in and if it goes to extra-time, I fancy us against anybody,"
"We are more determined and the fittest team in the league. People here run when they are losing and winning. I don't care how long it takes."
The winners of the tie take on Stevenage Borough in next month's Semi Final.
