Saunders slams 'shocking' defending
Dean Saunders has spoken about his side's "shocking" defending during last nights defeat at Burton Albion.
Speaking to BBC Wales Saunders said "It's going to be difficult to catch them now," "We are trying to get promotion and trying to teach the players how to play at the same time.
" In the interview Saunders continued by saying "I thought we battered them (Burton) in the first half. We didn't get the second goal but stopped them playing.
"That was probably as well as we have played.
"We came out in the second half and started off all right then started to give the ball away for fun.
"Consequently, our wide men were getting caught out of position because we were losing the ball and they started to get on top of us.
"The two goals were absolutely shocking defending" he added.
Wrexham are now 22 points behind Burton, and dropped to Fifth place after last nights defeat. Despite the setback The Dragons are still in a strong position with games in hand on most of their rivals, and Saunders will be backing his young squad to bounce back and continue their promotion push.
