Smith in Dark over Player Futures

Denis Smith has revealed he has not heard from many players who could leave the club on a free in the summer.

Smith offered new deals to all players whose previous deals expired in the summer and has yet to hear from most players with the exception of Steve Roberts who has confirmed he is leaving for Donny Rovers, and Craig Morgan, whose agent revealed he is tempted by a move to MKDons.

Talismanic striker, Juan Ugarte, has returned home to Spain
for a few days while Trinidad international winger, Carlos Edwards, is on World Cup duty until June 7.

Smith said: "I can't expect them to make decisions if they don't yet know what their plans are.

"They all want more money - that's natural - and this is an opportunity for them to see what else is available.

"They have until June 21 to let me know but I would prefer to hear from them before that.

"However I won't wait beyond that date because I don't want another Lee Trundle situation, which put me out to hang and dry when he eventually decided to leave.

"If I don't hear from the players by June 21 I'll be going elsewhere."
