The idea came from The Sweet's guitarist Andy Scott who is from Wrexham.
The gig was played at the William Aston Hall with over 800 tickets being sold. The Sweet are famous for tracks like Ballroom Blitz and Blockbuster.
It's reported that the trust have now raised over £200,000 and are closing in on it's £250,000 target.
