Hull City striker Jonathan Walters has joined League Two side Wrexham on a one-year contract.

The former
Blackburn and Bolton player, 21, joined Hull in February 2004 for £50,000, but failed to become a regular in the starting line up at the KC Stadium.

Amazingly the whole deal took less than 24 hours to complete.

"It's the quickest deal I've ever done," Wrexham boss Denis Smith said.

"I had a call from an agent at
2.30pm (on Thursday), I got the lad over here for a chat as soon as possible and we've done the deal."

For the best part of last season Walters was a substitute by the Championship side who won promotion from League One spent a time on loan at
Scunthorpe.

With Hector Sam having left the Racecourse for Port Vale, Walters will bolster Smith's frontline with only Chris Llewellyn definitely available to the League Two club this season.

Walters has been described as a very skillful player, with a great technique, great at shielding the ball from defenders and never stops running and closing players down.

During his short time at
Hull
he has proved very determined and hard working when given a chance.

He is said to be a good team player and has shown he has the ability to score great goals, which Wrexham will need to take advantage of if they’re to be bounce back to League One..

Walters was popular at Hull and some fans believe the best is yet to come from the youngster if he gets his confidence up from a long spell in the side.
