In an interview with Wrexham evening leader, Reds goalkeeper has indicated that he see's no reason why he Can't play beyond his 40th birthday like many other goalkeepers are doing.
"Without doubt. I feel better than I have done for years," said Ward today.
"My aim was 'can I play till I'm 40' and who knows with the way I feel now barring injury.
"There are lots still out there in the league still playing, I could easily name half-a-dozen.
"David James is the same age as me and still playing for England. He never gets thought of as an 'old campaigner' the way he looks after himself and is still doing the business.
"As long as you look after yourself, and do the right things, there is no reason why you can't play into your 40s as a 'keeper."
"It is great to still be playing at a club like Wrexham with their tradition and great facilities," said Ward.
"I am enjoying going in every day and having the craic - I'm getting paid for what I love doing. It is fantastic to be challenging to get out of this league. That is the aim because it's imperative that's where Wrexham need to be."
Ward joined Wrexham in January 2008 from Chester City and is also the club's goalkeeping coach. Ward has been an ever present in the League this season, Conceding 29 goals in 27 matches. Ward's full record since joining Wrexham is outlined below.
