Waynne will get 12 month contract

He suffered a double fracture after a tackle with James Cotterill in the early stages of the clash with Scunthorpe United, almost certainly ending his season with less than ten minutes on the clock.

The player was only on a two month contract at the Racecourse Ground, but the Chairman of the North Wales club told the player that he would extend his contract at least until he was fully fit.

"I am devastated for the lad," explained Wrexham manager Denis Smith after yesterday's battling stalemate.

The only bit of good news is that the chairman came into the dressing room and said Waynne would have a contract for the season.

"Hopefully that will make him rest a little more easily."
