Williams happy to learn from Saunders

Wrexham striker Marc Williams believes that there is nobody better in the game to learn centre forward play from than Dragons boss Dean Saunders.

The 20-year-old has been in great form since Saunders took charge at the Racecourse Ground, and restored Williams to the starting line up. Marc has repaid Saunders faith by scoring 17 goals in all competitions this season.

The forward signed a new 18-month contract this week, which will see him remain at the club until the summer of 2010, and he is eager to play his part in seeing the Dragons regain football league status.

He told The Press: "Since Dean Saunders came in I have been playing regular first-team football and improving as player.

"I have learnt a lot from Dean. He has played at the very highest level and is passing on what he learnt.

"With him having been a striker, it has helped me a lot, in terms of my movement around the box, for example, and when our midfielders are on the ball.

"There are plenty of ideas he is putting in our heads, giving us a larger base to work with. He has helped build my confidence too. Every time I go out on to the field I feel I can score."

Marc's form has also seen him being rewarded with a call up to the Wales under 21 squad.
