The draw for the first round of the Carling Cup will be made on Tuesday June 28 at 0700 BST.

The 72 Football League teams will be split into northern and southern sections, with Wrexham faturing in the Northern section.

All clubs finishing 12th or higher in League One last season are seeded and will play against an unseeded team in round one, on August 23 or 24 , meaning Wrexham will play a seeded team.

The 12 Premiership teams not competing in Europe will join the competition in round two, while the European participants will enter at the third round stage.

The final in February will again take place at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff with the new Wembley stadium unable to host a game at this time.

Wrexham's first round opponents will be either:

Bradford City, Burnley, Crewe Alexandra, Derby County, Doncaster Rovers, Hartlepool United, Huddersfield Town, Hull City, Leeds United, Leicester City, Nottingham Forest, Preston North End, Rotherham United, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke City, Tranmere Rovers or Wolverhampton Wanderers.
