Wrexham out of Cup on pens

Last updated : 18 October 2006 By Dylan Gallacher
Wrexham went out of the Johnstones Paint Trophy last night after a penalty shootout.

Matt Crowell scored an 80th minute leveller for Wrexham and that took the game to penalties. A new feature of the cup this season is that there are no periods of extra time.

Earlier in the game Chrios Dagnall had scored for Rochdale.

Wrexham missed a penalty when Chris Llewelyn saw his effort saved. That was the only one that was not coverted with Rochdale returning a 100% record from their kicks and they move into round 2.
