Directors Dave Bennett and Dave Griffiths revealed minutes ago that the club has petitioned to the courts to go into administration.
Dave Bennett went on to say that this would stop the winding-up petition by the Inland Revenue due to be heard tomorrow in the High Court and would give then two weeks to save the club.
Mr Bennett has said that they are still looking for a buyer for the club, and made it known that they may have some surprises for us in the coming weeks.
Wrexham face
Fans of the club are looking for as many fans as possible to get through the turnstiles before 3pm to develop as much revenue as possible for the club as they battle to stay afloat and Fans United have made Saturday Wear Red for Wrexham Day.
The players and manager have accepted they may face a ten-point penalty in League One which would see them drop into the relegation zone. This view is shared by many fans with a view they’d rather be relegated than cease to exist altogether.
Donations to the club’s Supporter’ Trust who had made two bids to save the Wrexham AFC can be made by visiting www.wst.org.uk and clicking on the PayPal button.
Alternatively, if you have a few million spare, please get in touch with a bid to save the club and buy the ground from Alex Hamilton.
