Coach Joey Jones told the official website.
"I'm not into playing games as friendlies, I want my teams to go out and look to win, no matter what the competition," he said.
"We have to get a winning mentality throughout the club and that includes the reserves.
"They did pick up after the break and deserved to win, but we have to be looking to do that for the full 90 minutes.
"Alright this was the first game for a number of them, but we have to get back in the stride of things quickly."
