Dragons sweat on key trio

WREXHAM could be without their three former Premiership players for this evening's Racecourse clash with Kidderminster.

Captain Ashley Westwood, defender John Curtis and striker Matt Jansen were unable to train yesterday, Westwood because of illness, Curtis with a groin strain and Jansen after taking a kick on the knee during Saturday's 2-0 home defeat by Crawley Town.

Racecourse boss Dean Saunders said his players could not afford the luxury of feeling sorry for themselves after gifting Saturday's opponents both of their first-half goals.

"We've talked things through with the lads and it's time for them to roll their sleeves up and get back to doing what they do best," he said yesterday.

"There are still a lot of points to play for and if we can beat Kidderminster we will climb back up the table.

"We will give late fitness tests to the three injured players, but as I said on Saturday, we will be looking at making a few changes, both in terms of the team and in style.

"The Racecourse pitch makes it difficult to play as we would like, so we might need to be a bit more direct and get the ball forward more quickly."
