Relegation-threatened Wrexham are set to include Jeff Whitley when derby rivals Shrewsbury visit the Racecourse Ground on Sunday.
The 28-year-old midfielder has returned to the club for second loan spell having been made surplus to requirements at Cardiff.
He has been suffering from a viral infection that ruled him out of Tuesday's 2-1 defeat at Grimsby but a course of antibiotics has put him on the road to recovery.
He played for an hour of Wrexham reserves' 3-1 defeat at Accrington on Wednesday and should come into contention to face the Shrews.
However, Juan Ugarte (hamstring) and Sean Pejic (hamstring) remain sidelined and Neil Roberts could be available after an ankle injury.
In a further boost, Levi Mackin is available again after a four-match ban as the Dragons go in search of their first win since Brian Carey was appointed as manager.
Shrewsbury manager Gary Peters will give striker Andy Cooke a late fitness test.
The former Burnley man missed the 2-0 midweek win over Notts County with an ankle injury but has made a good recovery and Peters is hopeful the extra day's training will help him return to contention.
But Cooke is unlikely to be thrown straight back into the starting line-up as stand-in Leo Fortune-West picked up a man-of-the-match award against Notts County after making the opener for Derek Asamoah and scoring the second.
Defender Neil Ashton will definitely be available after recovering from the illness which forced him to miss the County win, while top scorer Michael Symes completes his three-match suspension after his sending-off against Mansfield.
