Darren Ferguson left Wrexham to take over as Posh's player-manager last Saturday and has wasted no time in going after a player he clearly rates.

But Dragons boss Brian Carey, himself new to management after taking over from Denis Smith, is not impressed.

"We have had an enquiry about Chris, but we have categorically turned it down," Carey told the club website.

"We are fully determined to keep all our players here for the fight ahead, indeed, our concern is focused on bringing players in and not losing them."

Llewellyn, who has 18-months remaining on his current contract, is considered a big part of the Dragons' future as they seek to climb away from relegation danger.

Wrexham say they would not welcome any further interest in the Wales striker, or any other players.
