Four goals in 14 minutes either side of the break simply blew away previously unbeaten Wrexham and gave Stanley their first win in the league since August 12.
In the early stages there was no sign of the carnage that was to follow as Wrexham enjoyed the lion's share of the possession without actually breaching the home defence.
Slowly but surely Stanley grew in confidence with Gary Roberts and Paul Mullin pulling the Wrexham defence all over the pitch.
On 34 minutes Mullin saw his header saved and five minutes later from a cross by Roberts, Andy Proctor headed the ball wide with the goal at his mercy.
Just before the break, Accrington got their noses in front when Wrexham keeper Michael Ingham failed to hold a Sean Doherty shot and Mullin responded the quickest to turn the rebound home.
Five minutes after the restart Doherty forced a save out of Ingham and from the resulting corner Ian Craney swung the ball into the net.
By now Wrexham were visibly disintegrating and following a long forward punt, defender Shaun Pejic completely missed his header and allowed Roberts to follow in and score.
On 55 minutes more comical defending followed as while Ingham was on his post arranging the wall for a free-kick, quick thinking defender Peter Cavanagh floated the ball into the net.
By now Accrington were producing party pieces and Craney raced through the middle on 57 minutes but saw his low drive saved.
The rout was completed on 67 minutes when the Wrexham defence was again caught out by a long ball forward for Roberts who converted the simplest of chances.
