Promotion-chasing Wrexham and survival-seeking Boston United settled for a point a piece from a high-scoring tussle at York Street.
The Welshmen led early on but Boston battled back to lead 3-1 at one stage before the visitors recovered to claim a draw with a powerful fightback of their own.
It took eight minutes before any sort of chance arrived in a scrappy opening phase of play and even then, Brian Carey's header from a Darren Ferguson free-kick was way off-target.
The visitors, though, went ahead in the 12th minute when Lee Trundle got the ball near the corner of the Boston area, held off two defenders and curled a left-foot drive beyond Paul Bastock.
Boston had to wait until the 18th minute for their first chance - a thunderous volley by Neil Redfearn which brought a good save from Andy Dibble.
Moments later Tom Bennett met a Ben Chapman cross and again tested keeper Dibble.
At the other end Carlos Edwards evaded his marker and forced Bastock to palm away for a corner.
Boston hit back to equalise on 27 minutes when sub Peter Duffield headed in the rebound to a Redfearn shot which bounced back off the bar.
Eight minutes before the break Bennett hit another shot wide as Boston sought to take the lead. Then a fierce Redfearn free-kick whistled inches past the post.
Boston made a flying start to the second half when Paul Ellender was tripped in the area and Redfearn dispatched the penalty.
Wrexham hit back with Darren Ferguson seeing two quick free-kicks blocked by Matt Hocking and then tipped away by Bastock.
Moments later Carlos Edwards cut in from the right but fired into the sidenetting.
Sensationally Boston scored another in the 62nd minute. A towering clearance from Bastock got the Wrexham defence in a tangle. Dibble dashed out to head clear only for Duffield to roll the ball into an empty net.
But 60 seconds later Carey headed a second for Wrexham from a Ferguson corner and in the 76th minute the Welshmen drew level when Trundle stroked in unmarked eight yards out following a low cross from Shaun Holmes.
Wrexham continued to press in their quest for three points and after 87 minutes Trundle headed wide from a Ferguson set piece - one of 52 free-kicks awarded by referee Mr Prosser.
