Matthew Tipton netted a brilliant debut goal to rescue a deserved point for under fire Bury manager Graham Barrow in a 2-2 draw with Wrexham at Gigg Lane.
Tipton joined Bury less than 24 hours before kick-off after his summer move to Mansfield ended in acrimony.
The former Oldham and Macclesfield front man snubbed the Shakers when he moved to Field Mill.
But he's delighted to be given a second chance and repaid Barrow's loyalty with a man of the match performance.
Macclesfield's record league goal scorer curled in a delightful shot from 18 yards after 51 minutes to bring his new team-mates back into the match for a second time.
Lee McEvilly scored a lucky first goal to put the visitors in front after 10 minutes with their first goal since the opening day of the campaign.
However, Bury deservedly levelled two minutes later. Jon Newby set-up Tipton whose shot was saved by Michael Ingham but midfielder Brian Barry-Murphy was on hand to fire in the rebound.
The goal also meant the Shakers are the first team to have scored 1,000 in each of the four divisions.
Sloppy defending saw Dave Flitcroft restore Wrexham's lead with an own goal in the 24th minute. Attempting to atone for his own mistake the ball deflected past Neil Edwards for 2-1.
It took Bury until the second half to restore their confidence which they did courtesy of Tipton's effort.
Tom Kennedy's back pass let in Mark Jones but Edwards's save prevented Wrexham going in front for a third time.
Late on Tipton's one on one with Ingham was blocked while Dave Bayliss collected the most blatant red card of the season for an elbow on the Bury newcomer.
