Doncaster used the game to mark their 125th Anniversary but their celebrations fell flat as it proved a poor spectacle for the 7,567 crowd.
Rovers struggled for inspiration throughout and Wrexham keeper, Matt Baker never had a serious shot to save.
Both teams had difficulty adapting to the blustery conditions but when Wrexham did manage to get the ball under control they showed a skillful side to their game as they warmed to their task.
It was Doncaster who looked more promising at the start with young striker, Chris Beardsley grafting hard on his first home start.
Beardsley had a chance in the fifth minute following mix-up in the Wrexham defence but when he tried to take the ball past Matt Baker the visiting keeper snatched it off his toes.
Play became bogged down midfield with neither side able to cease the initiative, although Beardsley went close again when he latched onto a free-kick from Mark Albrighton and fired just over the top in the 29th minute.
Paul Green missed his shot when he was presented with an opportunity soon after and then Beardsley headed wide following a corner in the 33rd minute.
Wrexham had hardly been seen in attack in the first half but Steve Roberts sounded a warning when he had a goal-bound effort deflected just before the interval.
Leo Fortune-West did get the ball in the net for Doncaster in the 47th minute - only to be ruled off-side - and the homeside seldom threatened after that.
Wrexham took charge with substitute Dean Bennett heading just over the top when he should've scored in the 50th minute and then Chris Llewellyn burst through to have a left foot shot saved 10 minutes later.
Doncaster huffed and puffed without getting anywhere and it was left to full-back Dave Mulligan to provide their best second-half effort with a 30-yard shot over the bar.
Chris Llewellyn fired wide again after racing through on the left in the 89th minute and James Coppinger had a weak free-kick saved in injury time but again neither side deserved to win.
