Wrexham did their promotion chances a world of good with a comfortable victory at Aggborough as they profited from poor defending by Kidderminster.

Wrexham took the lead against the run of play, Lee Trundle curling a shot around Stuart Brock from the edge of the area as Dion Scott and Scott Stamps backed away.

Until that point Kidderminster had looked the more likely scorers after the two teams had returned to the field of play following a 10-minute delay caused when a strong gust of wind blew down a temporary television gantry.

Andy Bishop headed a cross wide at the far post while Sean Parrish and Ian Foster combined well only for Brian Carey to clear the danger.

Carey came to the Harriers rescue again when he cleared Bishop’s header from Sam Shilton’s corner off the line.

After the interval Harriers started brightly again and Dennis Lawrence had to be alert to foil Bishop as he broke clear. Foster looked to profit from the rebound but saw his drilled effort parried by Andy Dibble.

Wrexham were content to soak up the pressure and went further ahead just past the hour mark.

Scott Green’s corner from the right was headed down by Carey and the Harriers defence was too slow to react as Trundle stabbed the ball home from close range.

Kidderminster rarely threatened following Wrexham’s second goal, a blocked Shilton effort representing their best opportunity in the latter stages.
