Oxford kept their survival hopes alive going into the final weekend of the season. A home win over Leyton Orient would make them safe in League 2. But they are now one of seven sides in danger, their fate hanging on their final days results.

They made and missed many chances at the Racecourse and it took a penalty to gain a precious point. A mistake by keeper Andrea Guatelli let Wrexham in for a simple goal he went up with home striker John Walters for a high cross fell over him and let the ball run loose for Matt Crowell to stab it into a unguarded net.

The keeper was carried off on a stretcher four minutes later to be replaced by Chris Cardiff who had only a couple of saves to make. He blocked their shots from Andy Holt and stopped another with his legs from Walters, who also headed against the cross bar. He was caught off the line when Matt Derbyshire cut into the box and Matt Robinson cleared.

The equaliser came just after the hour following Shaun Pejic tackle. Tcham N'Toya-Zoa stepped I to drive a weak spot kick under young home keeper Mark Jones. Andrew Burgess hit over the Wrexham bar and missed another sitter from point black range.

Sabin was also guilty of a glaring miss when he sliced the box. Steve Basham saw a shot saved by Jones who tipped another drive from Andrew Burgess wide.
