Denis Criticises Players

Following last night's easy 4-0 win over Colwyn Bay, Wrexham boss had this to say about his players.

"Maybe one or two of them thought that by leaving a few players behind, I wasn't taking this match seriously. Well they were wrong.

"There was a definite improvement after the break, but then those players coming on at half-time will have heard what I said in the dressing room at the break.

"I know it was hot to start with, but we only played it at walking pace.

"I came here to work this evening and I expect my players to do the same.

"Colwyn Bay matched us in the first half, but at least for the possession we gave up we didn't let them hurt us in front of goal."

"You could see the Premiership training that the likes of Jon Walters, Aaron Samuel and Lee Roche have grown up with.

"They treated the game seriously and went out there to work."

"Mike Williams has plenty going for him, size, pace and being left sided, now I'm looking for him to start to push on.

"Chris Jones had another good game, while Roche and Smith also continued to impress - Pej was quality again.

"As for Aaron Samuel, all you ask of your strikers is to score and he did that to good effect with two goals.

"Indeed, with three teenage scorers, plus Walters and McEvilly looking good, there was still plenty to be taken from this game."
